Overview: World War Two was the deadliest war in history, with roughly 3% of the human race perishing due to the conflict. The rise of Nazism in Germany put the nations of the world on a collision course, with devastating results. Adolf Hitler's disregard for the international community made him a hero in the eyes of the German people, but he would betray their trust by leading his country into a global war which would destroy the hopes and dreams of generations of Germans.
